A footbath facility was opened on April 18, 2014 in front of Echizen Railway Awarayunomachi Station. You can easily recognize it from its retro-looking appearance. It has bathtubs with five different spring qualities which are spacious enough to allow thirty people to enjoy taking a footbath at a time.
Yukemuri Yokocho,"Hot spring steam alley", is located in front of Echizen Railway Awarayunomachi Station. Passing through the entrance of the alley decorated with red paper restaurant lanterns, you will find many stalls standing side by side along the alley which look like those you see in old TV dramas. Although each stall is small with about 9 seats or so in it, each one is full of homely atmosphere with abundant variety of dishes such as Kushikatsu, or small pieces of deep-fried meat, seafood, vegetables, etc. put one after the other on a wooden skewer, soba noodle, seafood, Oden, or a Japanese food of stewed ingredients in soy sauce-based soup, gyoza, Horumonyaki, or skewered and broiled pig innards seasoned with salt and pepper or stewed ones in miso or soy sauce-based soup, ramen, and so on. All these stalls take pride in their own unique and delicious food they serve.
